Senior Testing and Certification Engineer (081jc) vacancy in Watford ()

This company which is a major play in the testing and approvals service are now seeking an individual to join them in their expanding and dynamic Physical and Security Team.

The team is experiencing rapid growth in demand for its testing and approval of security products such as doors, windows, shutters, safes and perimeter protection.

As part of their strategy for growth they are looking to recruit a Senior Testing and Certification Engineer whose primary responsibility will be to manage thier UKAS accredited testing and certification of windows and doors to PAS24 and EN1627, as well as provide support on testing, assessment and certification of a broader range of products to other security standards such as LPS1175.

The Senior Testing and Certification Engineer will be responsible for:
• Managing and, where required, conducting the testing and evaluation of windows, doors and curtain walling systems to PAS24 and EN1627. This includes health and safety and quality of work conducted in these areas.
• Supporting the testing and evaluation of a wide range of products to other security standards, as well as liaising with other teams in relation to ‘CE marking’ of doors and windows.
• Producing test and evaluation reports together with other technical publications.
• Representing the company on national and international committees.
• Helping to ensure the technical integrity and quality of the work undertaken by the physical security team, and ensuring it complies with our strict due diligence procedures.
• Representing and promoting the business at exhibitions, events and other forums.
• Working with the companies marketing team to promote the services provided within this area of the business.
• Providing technical support to manufacturers, specifiers, end users and other stakeholders.

Skills and Competence for role:
• Familiarity with relevant standards, directives and regulations.
• Experience of testing and certification.
• Effective project and business management skills.
• Strong numeric and analytical skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills and demonstrable attention to detail.
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Proactive and conscientious.
• Energetic and determined to deliver a first class service.
• Willing and able to travel both in the UK and internationally.
