My client who have the contract to maintain all of the Hawk aircraft at RAF Valley Anglesey are now seeking Deputy Quality Manager to join their team

Job Description

My client based in RAF Valley wishes to appoint a Deputy Quality Manager. The successful applicant will report to the Hawk Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager. The position is both varied and demanding.

Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility will be:
• Provide support to Hawk Quality & Continuous Improvements Manager
• Work to and support the implementation of the Quality Management System as required by MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP) Pt 145 and ISO 9001:2008 Standards
• Support the design and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) as required by MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP) Pt 145 and ISO 9001:2008 standards
• Conduct audits and provide audit reports and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to MRP Pt 145 and ISO 9001:2008 standards when called upon to do so
• Liaise with customers, clients and other contractors as necessary and process customer complaints and corrective actions including but not restricted to Quality Occurrence Reports and Corrective Action Reports
• Ensure that all audit reports are completed and distributed within laid down timescales and any subsequent actions are tracked and hastened to meet set targets
• Monitor and propose amendments to the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and Engineering Procedures to ensure they satisfy appropriate regulatory and Company requirements
• Maintain a tracking database/spread sheet for all corrective and preventative actions from both internal and external audits
• Analyse statistical information from the data gathered within the tracking database to inform decisions on Continuous Improvement
• Produce monthly and half-yearly reports to feed into Management Review Meetings
• Manage expectations by communicating progress, highlighting emergent issues and proposing alternative solutions
• Foster and promote a culture of continuous improvement, implement best practice initiatives and business improvements
• Be required occasionally to undertake additional duties and responsibilities of a similar nature in other related locations that fall within your capabilities and experience as directed by your Line-Manager

Qualifications & Requirements

• Educated to HNC/HND qualifications or appropriate equivalent aviation engineering experience
• Demonstrable experience of working within an aviation environment with a sound knowledge of Military Aviation Safety
• Have a broad base QA experience of working with MoD, public or private commercial organisations.
• Project Management skills
• Articulate in oral and written communication
• Knowledge of MAOS MRP Part 145, ISO 9001:2008 and MAA Regulations
• Event Investigation experience, knowledge of MEDA investigation techniques
• Working knowledge and use of IT Operating Systems (MS Office Suite) and the Internet
• Full UK Driving Licence

Successful candidates will be required to meet strict MOD security requirements and a medical may be required as part of the usual recruitment process.
