My client who have the contract to maintain all of the Hawk aircraft at RAF Valley Anglesey are now seeking Aviation Safety Team Leader to join their team

Job Description
Based at RAF Valley my client wishes to appoint an ASMS – Team Leader & MEMS Co-ordinator. The successful applicant will report to the Head of Aircraft Maintenance/Principal Engineer (HAM/PE).

Responsibilities
• The position is both varied and demanding, the successful applicant will:
• Assist the HAM/PE and Senior Management Team to assure compliance with Aviation Standards and Practices.
• Manage and coordinate the MEMS Database and business activities for the Safety Action Group (SAG) which will include the MEMS Response Group (MRG) ensuring proactive progression of corrective actions, monitoring, reporting of trends, and the development of the existing MEMS ensuring its efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support the design and implementation of the Quality Management System as required by MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP) Pt 145 and ISO 9001:2008 Standards.
• Manage the ASM risk register for Hawk.
• Produce monthly, and half-yearly, Management Review reports.
• Provide support to D&S (A) operational audits and inspection processes.
• Support the introduction of benchmarking assessments.
• Provide proactive advice and support to Engineering Management & Team Leaders/Shift Leaders/Supervisors.
• Act as Hawk technical expert wrt appropriate QA Standards (MRP Pt 145 and ISO 9001:2008)
• Manage Aviation Safety Management System (ASMS) with the respective Hawk Platforms Points of Contact (PoC)
• Administer and direct policy for the Air Safety Review Board (ASRB).
• You will, from time to time, be required to undertake additional duties and responsibilities of a similar nature in other related locations that fall within your capabilities and experience as directed by your Line Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Educated to HNC/HND qualifications or appropriate equivalent aviation engineering experience
• Demonstrable experience of working within an aviation environment and a sound knowledge of Aviation Safety Management Systems.
• Have a broad base QA experience of working with public or private commercial organisations.
• Knowledge of MAOS MRP Part 145, ISO 9001:2008 and MAA Safety Regulations Project Management skills
• Articulate in oral and written communication
• Event Investigation experience, knowledge of MEDA investigation techniques
• Working knowledge and use of IT Operating Systems (MS Office Suite) and the Internet
• Full driving license

Successful candidates will be required to meet strict MOD security requirements and a medical may be required as part of the usual recruitment process.
