Senior Software Engineer (153ne) vacancy in Middlesex ()

Our Client, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of equipment for Comms, Radio, EW and ECM RF testing are now seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Company Equipment Division Engineering team in the design and development of new and existing embedded firmware and software. Take responsibility for all aspects of the software and firmware development, delivery and maintenance. To learn understand and apply the core software technologies including design tools, configuration control and applications to assist in that process.

Main Duties:
• To design and develop embedded firmware and software to meet the defined requirements.
• To be responsible for the whole software development lifecycle including writing specifications, test plans, and other appropriate documentation.
• To be responsible for the configuration control and release of all software and firmware
• To ensure best practice software development processes are followed to deliver high quality, right first time products to our customers.
• To support the development of automatic test equipment and built-in test capabilities.
• Develop understanding of Company products and their software requirements
• To support Equipment Engineering in development and improvement of existing and technologies
• To ensure compliance with the Company’s manufacturing procedures and quality processes.
• To achieve scheduled activity against agreed forecast/plan.
• To undertake any other task, which may reasonably, be requested.
• To ensure software development is commensurate with the company’s software quality management policy.
• To support the company’s software review process to ensure visibility of software function.

Qualifications:
• BSc, B.Eng. or equivalent

Essentials:
• Ability to design develop and debug embedded software/firmware.
• Knowledge of software development in military or aerospace.

Desirables:
MSc or M.Eng.
• Embedded software development for critical applications.
• Configuration control and management.
• Software design and development processes for high integrity.
• Windows GUI development.
• Labview software.
