Environmental Engineer/Scientist (163jc) vacancy in Suffolk ()

My client is seeking an individual for a full-time on-site Environmental position at Royal Air Force (USAFE) location in the vicinity of Cambridge on an initial 12 month contract.

Primary responsibilities include supporting the Environmental Office and the associated programmes.

This position requires reviews and updates for management plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and environmental technical documentation. Environmental inspections will be conducted and written reports documenting findings and results, as well as recommendations, will be prepared. Attendance and participation in Government technical meetings to include preparation of meeting agendas, technical presentations, and minutes will be required.

Requirements:
• Environmental BS Degree or appropriate certification
• UK Security Clearance is an essential requirement
• 3 to 5 years of experience providing environmental program support in military locations is preferred
• Experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS; ISO 14001)
• Ability to work independently in a mixed military, government, and contractor personnel environment
• Ability to coordinate and interact with host nation (United Kingdom) authorities and regulatory agencies, as needed
• Proficiency with common word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (e.g., MS Office Suite)

Preferences:
• Familiarity with Environmental terminology and processes essential
• Knowledge of UK/US environmental requirements

As stated this is for a 12 month initial contract, but with option for future renewal and it will run from the Summer 4014 to Summer 2015
