My client is currently seeking an experienced Armoured Vehicle Electrical or Control Equipment Instructor to join their team initially in Bordon, but my need to relocate to Lyneham in September 2015

Job Description
My client wishes to appoint an Instructor to work within the Armoured Vehicle Department (AVD) initially to be based in Bordon with the potential of transferring to Lyneham in September 2015 at which point this role will be reviewed. The role will report to the Line Manager AVD.

Responsibilities
Working as part of the AVD section, the job holder’s key responsibilities will be as follows:
• Responsible for the preparation/planning and instruction of the appropriate course material to all students allocated, in accordance with approved course training packages and training directives.
• The control and management of students, training aids and all other instructional resources, in the most safe, efficient and economic manner.
• Supplementary duties to instruction such as remedial training, examining, invigilating, marking progress tests and setting and marking homework if deemed necessary.
• Minor maintenance to equipment’s, stores, vehicle areas & training aids to include maintaining technical literature appropriate to the subject.
• Updating professional knowledge and keeping abreast of changes to technology and teaching methods.

Qualifications & Requirements
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:
• City & Guilds 1, 2 & 3 or Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) in an engineering discipline (essential)
• Automotive electrical diagnosis (essential)
• Challenger 2 MBT experience or Titan/Trojan electrical experience or similar (desirable)
• Advanced Hydraulics knowledge (desirable)
• Teaching Instructional experience/qualification (desirable but training will be provided).
• Computer based training and simulation knowledge (desirable but training will be provided).
• Retired Senior Rank with relevant trade experience (would suit).

Competencies
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Team player with a positive outlook and a flexible approach to work with the ability to work alone when required
• Computer literate in Microsoft Packages
• Competency applicable to the post, training will be given.

Security
All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS, security clearance and 3 years employment reference checks.
